A market assessment becomes a working Market when its chosen route is translated into a maintainable information system. The handoff is not “publish the report.” It is a specification for what will be mapped, how claims will be checked, how people will navigate, and who will keep the asset current.
Carry forward the decision boundary
The Launch Case should identify the buyer task, target geography, included categories, rejected routes and open assumptions. Those decisions become inclusion rules for the Market. If a participant falls outside the launch boundary, leave it out even if it is commercially interesting. A disciplined first wave is more useful than a broad, inconsistent inventory.
Convert findings into a data model
Define categories around real comparison needs, then specify participant fields: identity, offer, location, evidence URL, date checked, and any criteria needed for the buyer task. Distinguish a factual field from an editorial judgement. Every high-impact claim should have a source that a reviewer can revisit.
Design routes through the map
A visitor may enter through a category, a named participant, a specific service or a comparison question. Plan those routes before multiplying pages. The Market product page shows the intended structure: categories, provider profiles, source-backed evidence, demand and competitive relationships, with updates as public information changes.
Ship a reviewable first wave
Choose a small number of categories with enough real participants and differentiated evidence to be useful. Review representative pages for accuracy, accessibility, link targets and mobile reading before expanding. Publish only claims that pass the source rule; leave uncertain claims as notes for later investigation.
Assign ongoing ownership
A working Market needs a change log, source refresh cadence, correction path and measurement owner. New providers enter; old offers disappear; category labels drift. Without maintenance, the asset quickly becomes a frozen directory regardless of the original ambition.
The 1000&1 Market discovery evidence page documents early search visibility in two independent Markets. It is evidence that a maintained structure can be discovered, not a forecast for a new launch. The right success test remains specific to the category and the buyer task chosen in the assessment.
Evidence and sources
Evidence note: Assessment-to-Market handoff is a 1000&1 editorial method diagram, not a measured outcome.
